A Message From Our District President

Blessings to all in this Year of our Lord, 2008. With great anticipation, we enter a new year knowing our God will be with us every minute of the day as we step out in boldness for Him. In a recent devotion, I read that we should not expect to bring people to church to learn about Jesus but that they should know about Him by the way we act, speak and relate to them. As we state in our LWML Pledge where we list all the parts of our body and how we use them in service to our Lord, we are being Jesus to those people that we interact with each day.

In June we will have the opportunity to be Jesus to one another and also to the people at the Holiday Inn in Everett where we will gather together to do the work of the Lord through LWML. As the plans begin to take shape for our convention, I invite you to remember the Host Committee and the Executive Committee in your prayers. There are many exciting events planned. Besides Bev England as key-note speaker, Claude and Rhoda Houge as missionary speakers and Kay Kreklau bringing the greetings from LWML, we will have a Heart to Heart program, Young Women Representatives, Interest Sessions, LWML store, and displays. As we focus on our theme – “The Lord, the Lord is the Rock Eternal” – may we be empowered to be Jesus to the people of this world. I look forward to greeting you in Everett in June.

The Lord is my rock
