The mission of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.

Greetings from the LWML Washington-Alaska District President

As of March 1, it will be 106 days before the first day of the LWML Washington-Alaska District 31st Biennial Convention in Spokane, Washington with the theme, “Rooted in Christ … Flourishing in the Faith!” It sounds like the convention is still a long time away, but the time will fly and the convention will be here before you know it. I hope you are excited, I sure am! I am excited to study God’s Word, worship and praise God together, see old friends, and make new friends. It will be exciting to hear from the recipients of our mites within and outside of our district. It will be fun to celebrate our 75th anniversary as a district. Of course, there is a little business that we need to get accomplished too! Convention registration form, hotel information, and highlights may be found in this issue. Your society should have received the bulk mailing that includes more details. Invite someone new to attend an event that happens every two years! Make plans now to attend. Information can be found on the
“2018 Convention” tab on the left side on this website.

In late January, it was my privilege to attend the LWML Board of Directors meeting in St. Louis, Missouri. While I was there, I talked with our LWML representative at our upcoming convention,
Vice President of Gospel Outreach Angelina Jauregui (see picture). She is excited to be with us and to meet all of you in June.

Join me this summer in Spokane, June 15-17!

Serving Christ With You,
Marie Chow
