The Mekane Yesus (Dwelling Place of Jesus) Lutheran Church in Seattle, is the only Ethiopian Lutheran Church that is found in the Seattle area with a mission of reaching over 30,000 Ethiopians living in Seattle and the surrounding suburbs with the Gospel. Many of the Ethiopian immigrants struggle to adapt to living in the United States. There is a loss of cultural context, leadership and guidance of the family unit. Through providing a church home and loving community, Mekane Yesus seeks to reach these families with the Gospel. The funds will be sufficient to cover the proposed budget for Evangelism materials, books and supplies for the church’s outreach program for the next biennium.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please continue to keep Pastor Berhanu Seyoum strong in his faith and full of Your Spirit as he ministers to the Ethiopian people in the Seattle area. Bless those who train to reach the lost by sharing the Gospel. Bless the outreach efforts as the Washington-Alaska District LWML contributes its mites to that many can be led to faith.
