Mission Grants  2010 - 2012

Olympic Peninsula Mission Start - Port Angeles, WA $4,000
olympic1   olympic2

This grant will assist the Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots U.S. to establish a new mission start that will serve the growing number of people in the greater Port Angeles area, including three Native American communities in the general vicinity. The new mission start will serve as a center to reach the lost, strengthen the saved and serve to be a place of coordinating outreach to other areas of the Olympic Peninsula where native communities exist with little or no ministry being conducted among them. Funding to provide worship materials, altar and communion ware, fellowship needs and transportation for the elderly and impoverished in theses communities who would otherwise not be able to attend worship. Native American people are the least evangelized people group with less than 5% knowing Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The need is great among the Lower Elwha, Jamestown Klallam, Quileute, Hoh and the Quinault tribes, and a small group of worshippers has already formed. Supplies in the form of Bibles, altar and communion ware, study materials, along with transportation are needed to bring and expand the Olympic Peninsula ministry to further Christ’s Kingdom.
Prayer: Dear Lord, bless the work of the Olympic Peninsula Mission Start as they reach out to the Native Peoples of the area. May the grant of mite funds from the Washington-Alaska District LWML help to further their ministry, bringing Your saving Word these people. Keep Your loving hand over the volunteers and workers as they establish the mission on the West coast of Washington. In Your Blessed name, Amen.
