Wardrobes for the Lutheran Home for Students Zacapa, Guatemala $5,000

The Guatemalan Lutheran Church reaches many children and families with the Gospel through the Divine Savior Lutheran School in Zacapa, Guatemala. The Lutheran Home for Students provides a home for students from outlying villages who otherwise would not be able to receive a Christian education. They attend the Divine Savior Lutheran School, which has a kindergarten through high school program. Some of the facilities at the Lutheran Home for Students are 40 years old and in need of replacement in order to provide a safe and secure environment for the children. The funds from this grant will replace wooden wardrobes in the student rooms, which have been significantly damaged by termites, with 20 metal wardrobes (closets) so that the students will have a secure place to store their clothes and personal items.
Prayer: Dear Lord, bless the work of the Guatemalan Lutheran Church as it reaches out to many children and families with the Gospel through the Divine Savior Lutheran School in Zacapa, Guatemala. May the Washington-Alaska District LWML mites help to provide assistance to the Lutheran Home for Students studying at this school by providing them with a safe and secure environment and a place to store their belongings. Help them to continue to grow in faith within Your kingdom. In Jesus’ Holy Name, Amen.
