Puppet Ministry of Cambodia $10,000

The ‘puppet ministry’ is a new outreach program in Asia and is currently being performed in Vietnam very successfully.  Cambodia has a great mission field and through puppet show productions at community centers and Lutheran venues such as schools and churches, Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM)-Cambodia will be able to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a population that is close to 95% Buddhist.  The Cambodian government has fewer restrictions than Vietnam so staff will be able to reach more unchurched people.  LHM-Cambodia will use the funds to purchase the products to make the puppets, design and construct the sets and scenes, write the productions based on Bible stories, and provide for a one-week training of Vietnam staff in Cambodia to help roll out the program.  This will provide ongoing support for a two-year implementation.

Dear Lord,

We pray that a puppet evangelism ministry in Cambodia soon will be a reality because of the joy-filled giving of our mites. Through this ministry, productions will be written based on Bible lessons, and staff training will be provided. This program is needed to bring the salvation of Jesus to a population that is nearly 95% Buddhist. Open doors and minds, oh Lord, in this puppet ministry.

We pray in Jesus' holy name. Amen.
