Heart to Heart - Sisters  of All Nations

The Heart to Heart - Sisters of All Nations program is an intentional effort to ensure that multicultural women of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) participate in the fellowship and service of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.

We need the Heart to Heart program to help us identify and celebrate our unique cultures, support each other, and share ways to incorporate our cultural background as we make a joyful noise to our Lord (Psalm 100: 1). Use the tabs below to check out the H2H page at LWML.

Hong Ha Nguyen, Heart to Heart Representative at the District Convention in 2024

Hi! I’m Hong Ha Nguyen. I’ve been a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sequim since June of 2000. My daughter, Stephanie, first attended Faith Lutheran Preschool and then our whole family of xix joined the church through the Rite of Baptism soon thereafter. We all went through the Rite of Confirmation at Faith too.

I was so blessed to be invited to attend the LWML Convention at Everett, WA. in June of 2024. It was my first time to attend such a wonderful event. I was able to meet new people and learn a lot of things. We enjoyed great food and I had a lot of fun with Judy and Melinda. We even stayed together in the same room at the Hotel. That was an incredible experience. I want to say “thank you” so much. God bless you all.

Comments from Heart to Heart Sisters after the 2024 District Convention:

  • Heart to Heart - Sisters of All Nations really taught that God loves everyone – regardless of ethnicity, location, or station of life.

  • I learned my differences are a positive for me and everyone else.

Ideas for celebrating cultures:

  • What Lutheran doesn’t love a potluck? How about making a dish from your cultural background?  Swedish meatballs, dal makhani, fufu, and baklava for dessert.

  • Suggested devotion: Woven Threads - Lutheran Women's Missionary League (lwml.org)

  • How about an afternoon or evening arts festival? Each member can teach a cultural craft (origami, beading); art (stippling, calligraphy); music, dance, or even storytelling.
