Dear Servant Leaders,
Leaders in All of Us
“I am not a leader,” is what we might hear from those who are leery of stepping up to be a leader in our
LWML groups. Not having new leadership can sometimes cause “burnout” in our current leaders, making it hard to share the love of our God through your group. So, how can we change this? What’s the best way to encourage those who are nervous in stepping up as a leader?
In response to these questions, we go to God’s Word.
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
We also remember that leaders come in many shapes and forms — from those that are more visible, like a District President, all the way to smaller roles, like serving snacks or sharing a devotion at your local group meetings. Those smaller roles can play just as much as a part in proclaiming our mission in joyfully proclaiming Christ, supporting missions, and equipping women to honor God through serving others!
