Greetings in the name of our Risen Lord, Jesus Christ!
Four plus years ago, I was asked to run for the office of district president. For several months, I prayed, “What do you have in mind for me, Lord?”. His response was always, “trust Me”. I never anticipated I would serve Him in this position. When praying for the theme verse, He said, “Be strong and courageous! I am with you.” And He was faithful to His promise. What a journey this has been! As I now prepare to leave this office, I look back to the many blessings, the new friends, and the commitment to “SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS”.
LWML Washington-Alaska District has accomplished much. This biennium we met the financial goal as our mite giving passed $145,000.00. We paid Scholarships to assist young people as they prepare for service to the Lord. We paid all our 2024-2026 Mission Grants. We enjoyed the District Retreat in Kennewick and look forward to the District Convention in Spokane in July.
The devotion of the “Purple Ladies” to serving the Lord and others is impressive. You creatively raised funds through tea parties, bake sales, crafts, and servant events. You encouraged each other in Bible studies, skits, and as you shared Christ with the hurting and the needy. Looking to the future we know there is much yet to do. Together we will do it as we hear His voice calling, “Who will go for Me?” Be ready to answer, “Here I am! Send me.”
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you serve Him with all your heart, mind and soul.
In His Service,
Carolyn Holbrook, President LWML Washington-Alaska District
